Planning application

5 Acacia Drive Banstead Surrey SM7 1LD

Granted Reigate and Banstead 21/02839/TPO Tree Preservation Order

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Remove the Sycamore listed as T1 on the site plan. The Sycamore is showing multiple signs of distress. A large wound 1ft from the base of the tree is getting significantly worse after being monitered for several years with lots of random epicormic growth sprouting from the base. During the summer the foilage was minimal, I believe this tree to be dangerous if left to decline further. All work will be compliant with BS3998 standards.

T1 and T2: 2x Sycamore (rear boundary, leftmost trees):To reduce lateral branches by 1m, to appropriate growth points, following BS3998. Lateral reduction should blend in with the untouched tops.T3: Sycamore (rear boundary, adjacent to pine) Remove lowest Southern branch which grows in front of the pine. The Sycamores have a fair amount of Squirrel damage within the canopy (having had some failed branches). We feel these works would help to reduce the potential for failure, whilst not detracting from the visual amenity for the wider area. T3 suggested works cannot be seen by anyone but the homeowners.
