About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

I am seeking permission to remove a large holm-oak tree in my back garden at 19 Marlborough Avenue. Also to remove a young Holly growing beside the holm-oak. It is a self-seeded tree, which has recently put on a spurt of growth after several years at a manageable size. Now itsdusty catkins fall into my own garden and into a shared footpath and also the garden of my neighbour at No. 17, where they are of particular concern because one member of the family has respiratory difficulties. It is also much too close to the houses for such a tall tree, and with its present abundant foliage it already darkens rooms upstairs and downstairs in my own house and my neighbour's.
