Leyland cypress: Fell and remove stump. Circled in Red - at the back of the property. There is no tree preservation order. The tree in question is a Leyland cypress which is approximately 17 metres in height and growing. It has a stem diameter of 580mm (measures at 1.6metres in height). The tree is located on my northern boundary and along the boundary wall of number 44 Ailsa Road as shown on the site plan attached. I have already applied to fell and remove the other Leyland cypress and now feel that this one may cause damage as well - it is currently pulling up the wooden boarder and likely to be better to take both trees down at the same time to avoid disruption. They are close together so likely to affect each other. If the tree is allowed to grow to maturity, it may grow to excess of 30metres in height and achieve a 1000mm stem diameter. There are no prominent features, it is no native to the UK and necessarily adding to the value of the local area. The loss would have no impact on the area as we back on to the St Margarets Pleasure Grounds where there are many large and beautiful trees exists so the loss of this tree would have no adverse impact on the local area.

No. 15 Strawberry Hill Road Twickenham

T1. Himalayan Birch Rear Garden: Phytophthora bleeding canker is a plausible and common cause of lower-trunk bark damage in Himalayan birch, especially in moist or compacted soils. The condition is often triggered or exacerbated by environmental stress, rather than occurring in isolation. Visible decay usually indicates a progressive decline process, often involving multiple agents. Unfortunately, the extent of the decay is affecting the stability of the tree and, therefore, removal is our only option. Dismantle in sections using rigging equipment to a level as close as possible to the surrounding soil. Grind out the stump. The tree's current height is 14m, and its crown spread is 6m After the proposed works, the tree's height is 0.0m, and the crown spread is 0.0m

Works Specification Summary T001, T002 and T004 Reduce the previously reduced/heavily reduced branches back to the previous pruning points, and to reduce the remaining crown by approximately 2m-3m to match and stabilise deadwood. The purpose of the works is to reduce crown loading, manage foreseeable branch failure risk and support the continued retention of the trees. Final pruning cuts, retained growth points and the extent of reduction should be determined on site by a competent arboricultural contractor, working to the supplied specification and BS3998. T003 and T005 Undertake selective branch reduction only, as illustrated in the supporting photographs. Works should only target identified branches that have outgrown the generally regarded outline of the canopy. These branches are displaying features comparable to those associated with the recent major branch failure within the linear group. The works should be limited to the minimum necessary to reduce foreseeable risk while retaining the overall form, canopy function and amenity value of the trees. All pruning works should be undertaken in accordance with BS3998 by a suitably competent and insured arboricultural contractor. Update to Works: T001 – London plane Withdraw the previously proposed crown reduction. Proceed with aerial inspection and removal of deadwood only. T002 – London plane Withdraw the previously proposed crown reduction. Proceed with aerial inspection and removal of deadwood only. T003 – Atlas cedar Proceed with the previously proposed selective branch reduction. An aerial inspection is also proposed. T004 – London plane Withdraw the previously proposed wider crown reduction. Proceed with aerial inspection, removal of deadwood, and selective branch reduction over the school side only. T005 – Atlas cedar Proceed with the previously proposed selective branch reduction as originally submitted. The selective branch reductions are recommended due to features such as splits and dysfunctional areas of primary branches located over high use areas. The school’s preferred outcome remains the retention and responsible management of the trees, while reducing foreseeable
