  • PA/2026/0776 Awaiting decision

MISSELTOR, TILEHURST LANE, BINFIELD, BRACKNELL, RG42 5JS

T9 (Oak) • Crown clean removing dead / dangerous / dysfunctional branches including larger dead branches over highway • Crown lift reducing low pendulous branches on the south side of the crown as required to create up to 3m crown clearance to the front elevation of Misseltor. This work will also have the added benefit of reducing weight of branch beyond weak fork midway. • Reduce low lateral branches on west side of crown only by 1.5-2-5m – from 13.5m to approximately 11m back in line with surrounding canopy to reduce asymmetry of crown and weight of elongated branches and create reasonable clearance to overhead cables. Cuts will be made back to previous reduction points and graded around the canopy to leave a sympathetic and natural-looking canopy shape. Reason: Overall, T9 (Oak) has good vitality and structural condition for its age, although its proximity to adjacent buildings, the highway, multiple underground services and the reported neighbouring subsidence warrant ongoing management and monitoring. Minor works are proposed at this time to raise the canopy in order to create reasonable clearance to Misseltor and overhead utilities and to sensitively reduce the lower canopy overhanging the front driveway of Misseltor with a reduction of selected elongated branches to reduce the overbearing nature of the crown in relation to the dwelling. These are minor works and the general health and wider visual amenity of the tree will not be affected.

  • PA/2026/0759 Awaiting decision

    15 BONSEY LANE, BINFIELD, BRACKNELL, RG42 4GL

T1 is currently in an advanced state of physiological and structural decline. Visual inspection from ground level reveals severe canopy thinning and widespread tip dieback throughout, which is strongly indicative of Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus). The canopy contains a significant volume of major deadwood. While we recognise that deadwood removal is exempt under TPO regulations, its presence highlights the tree's overall trajectory and poor health. Furthermore, multiple cavities displaying extensive decay are visible from ground level, alongside several structural snap-out points where major limbs have previously failed. Given the structural defects, internal decay, and loss of structural timber, the tree exhibits unnatural movement during high-wind events, raising serious concerns regarding full or partial failure. While the main stem sits on the boundary, both properties (No. 15 and No. 16) and their outbuildings - specifically the garage at No. 16 - fall squarely within the tree's fall-zone target area. RSL therefore proposes the following management intervention: 1. Crown Reduction: Reduce the entire canopy by 3m-4m, cutting back to suitable, viable secondary lateral growth points to reduce wind sail and mechanical leverage on compromised limbs. 2. Crown Clean & Maintenance: Remove all major deadwood, damaged/snapped growth, crossing and rubbing branches, and heavily decayed limbs to eliminate immediate drop hazards. Objective: The primary goal of this specification is to alleviate weight and mechanical stress on compromised structural points, stabilising the tree and mitigating public safety risks as far as reasonably practicable, short of total removal, while it continues its natural decline. RSA HOUSE, WESTERN ROAD, BRACKNELL, RG42 1RX

T17 Oak - cut back lateral branches by 2m to leave a finished spread of 8m. T19 Oak -cut back lateral branches by 2m to leave a finished spread of 8m. The proposed pruning above is required to provide sufficient clearance for the safe construction of the new building. Selected lateral branches extending towards the proposed building footprint and access route require reduction to allow for safe construction activities. The works have been limited to those branches necessary to achieve the required clearance. No greater pruning is proposed than is reasonably necessary, and every effort will be made to retain the tree's health, structural integrity, and visual amenity. All pruning will be carried out in accordance with current arboricultural best practice.

RENDCOMBE, TERRACE ROAD SOUTH, BINFIELD, BRACKNELL, RG42 4DN

Large Beech situated in the North West corner of the property. Believe the property line was moved many years ago so this is possibly included within the Area TPO. Guidance and the law 2014 states Area TPO's are for emergency short term use only however this has been in place since 1995 so falls well out of the criteria so it is impossible to tell if the tree is protected or not. The tree has recently shed a large limb due to summer branch drop and has apparently shed branches into the neighbouring property last year due to similar circumstances. The lower crown appears to show vigorous dense foliage however the upper portion is sparse and well in decline. Remains of a fungal fruiting body although decayed (likely Meripilus Giganteus) pic attached found at the base which would explain the trees inability to supply the upper crown with sufficient water and the shedding of limbs common to this species. Fell tree to ground level as significant risk to life and property on both sides of the property line. Urgent 5 day notice

22B THE ELMS, WARFIELD PARK, BRACKNELL, RG42 3RP

T1 - Turkey Oak • Reduce lateral spread of northwest quadrant of tree canopy by 1.5- 2m (from 5.5m to 3.5-4m) over garden to reduce overhang of low branches into garden of 22B The Elms. • Remove deadwood from tree canopy. Reason: Minor works to cut back overhang over the garden to ensure a safe play area for disabled resident child. This is minor work to a small tree growing at the rear of the property. The works will not be visible from a public viewpoint, and the amenity of the wider woodland area will not be undermined. T2 - Turkey Oak • Reduce regrowth / tips of cut side stem by 3-3-5m back to previous reduction points • Reduce lower branches by 1.5-2m back to boundary line. Reason: Poor form. Works are requested to reduce risk of branch failure of regrowth from previously cut branch and to raise the crown to create reasonable clearance over sheds and outbuildings.

    35 ROEBUCK ESTATE, BINFIELD, BRACKNELL, RG42 4DG

Tree Identification: Tree species: Robinia (False Acacia) Tree number (as per TPO): T1 Location: Land at 35 Roebuck Estate, Binfield (rear garden area extending across adjoining boundaries) Proposed Works Robinia (T1) – Crown reduction and selective pruning Reduce overall crown by approximately 20–25% (2–3 metres in height and lateral spread) Remove deadwood and storm-damaged branches throughout the canopy Selectively prune lower and overhanging branches extending into neighbouring gardens Remove thorn-bearing epicormic growth / low-level regrowth where causing nuisance or risk All works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998 (Tree Work Recommendations). Reasons for the Work 1) The proposed works are necessary for safety, nuisance reduction, and reasonable enjoyment of surrounding properties, specifically: 2) Structural / safety concerns: The tree appears to be leaning, increasing concern over stability There has already been branch failure during a recent storm, indicating vulnerability to further failure The tree is in close proximity to gardens used by children and neighbouring properties 3) Public and neighbour safety: The tree is producing thorn-bearing growth, which is falling into surrounding gardens This has already resulted in minor injuries and complaints from neighbouring properties 4)Overhang and light obstruction: Significant overhang into adjacent gardens Contributing to loss of natural light and encroachment across multiple properties 5) General amenity management: The works aim to retain the tree while bringing it back to a safe and manageable size appropriate for its location in a residential setting Replacement Tree (if applicable): Not applicable – tree is to be retained The intention is to preserve the tree long-term through appropriate management rather than removal.
