Works: Trees
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
The proposed works are to remove an ash tree affected by ash dieback. The tree is showing signs of decline and is shedding/dropping limbs, presenting a potential safety risk to people and property. Removal is therefore considered necessary to address the risk posed by the tree as its condition deteriorates. It is also proposed to remove the adjacent Leylandii, which has become excessively large and dominant. Its dense growth is restricting light and resources, preventing other vegetation from establishing and growing effectively in the surrounding area. Removal of the Leylandii will improve light levels and allow the space to be replanted or naturally regenerate. Both trees are proposed for removal on the grounds of safety, tree health and the management of the surrounding vegetation. Happy to discuss if more information or clarification is required.

The process from here
This application is with Pendle for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Re submitted application 1 year later due to continued growth as tree is in need of management - The Yew in question has recently caused the clients dog to undergo surgery due to the ingestion of yew berries and it overly concerned that this may happen again. The tree is over grown of the area in my opinion and also i may add that it does'nt seem lie it adds very much value to the area and also the situ of the tree it is only going to cause more concern so the client would like it removed to ground level
