What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

T1 Sycamore - Fell Reason: The tree has historic damage, potentially fire damage, to the lower stem, resulting in exposed heartwood and associated decay. The removal of the tree is considered justified on the grounds of its declining structural condition and in the interests of safety. T2 Weeping Beech - Crown lift to 5.5m Reason: Works are proportionate to the size of the tree and will provide appropriate clearance while retaining its overall form and amenity value. T3 Oak - Crown lift to 4.5m, reduce first long lateral limb and limb adjacent to it back from the house and remove epicormic growth and water shoots. Reason: The works will reduce encroachment towards the dwelling, address concerns regarding the long lateral limbs, and improve the tree's overall form while maintaining its amenity value. T4 & T5 - Sycamore - Remove epicormic growth and water shoots. Reason: Minor maintenance works that will improve the appearance of the trees without adversely affecting their health, structure, or amenity value.

Re submitted application 1 year later due to continued growth as tree is in need of management - The Yew in question has recently caused the clients dog to undergo surgery due to the ingestion of yew berries and it overly concerned that this may happen again. The tree is over grown of the area in my opinion and also i may add that it does'nt seem lie it adds very much value to the area and also the situ of the tree it is only going to cause more concern so the client would like it removed to ground level
