Proposal

Ash tree in back garde - Fell and grind out stump (contractor J Binns). Tree has ash die back, more than 50% of the canopy is dead, with some being already removed and some dieback in situ, The tree came into leaf very late and has become defoliated very early for its species, demonstrating a high level of stress and very poor health. The ARB ASS. best practice is to fell at this stage and remove. There is a significant level of ash dieback in the immediate vicinity with no signs of resistance. The tree has lost most of its amenity value as a result of very significant crown lifting and thining and its ecological value is depleted because of its condition. Its height exacerbates the potential to spread the disease. With at least 50% of its foliage/growth lost, the tree is highly unlikely to recover and will become unstable and a danger to property. Given its location I propose to plant 2 native species trees at the edge of the garden OR 6 within the par or nature reserve, the later will contribute to the depletion of ash on the ridge above the property.
