Reducing the tree was considered as this could reduce the trees likelihood of failure, however the trees form means that it would not be a good candidate to reduce and any reduction would be a short term solution. The cherry tree 6 is always going to be compromised and is dominating the neighbouring beech tree 5. Removing the cherry tree 6 tree would enable the beech tree 5 to develop into a decent specimen. If the cherry tree is retained even in a reduced form it is going to adversely affect the development of the beech tree 5. TEMPO score of 6 - TPO indefensible
