Planning application

32 Charles Avenue Nottingham Nottingham City NG9 2SH

Granted Nottingham 26/00438/PTPO Works to trees protected by TPO

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

3 Lime trees on my property from TPO434, G1, and marked on my sketch plan as a, b, c. i. Remove the significant epicormic growth at the base of trees a, b, c. This hinders access and movement around these areas of the garden, and is unsightly. ii. Remove the lighter epicormic growth up to the crown (3-4m above ground level) to restore the clean trunk. iii. Remove a damaged/broken branch on tree b. This previously horizontal branch appears to have been cut back initially, and then broken where it meets the trunk, by a neighbour. It is still attached to the trunk, but now hangs vertically down against it. 1 Lime tree on my neighbour's property (ie 30 Charles Avenue, NG9 2SH) from TPO434, G1, and marked on my sketch plan as d. i. Cut back the epicormic growth on tree d to the property boundary, for the same reasons given above. I would like permission to repeat the above work if/as required, for the following 5 years.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
