- Mature lime tree, shown as T1 on the BS 5837 Tree Constraints Plan. Request to remove the tree. Stump to be retained or ground out at discretion of the client. Reasons for removal: established colonisation with Ktretschmaria deusta, extensive soft rot to lower stem. Fruiting bodies to 1.2m high. 0.35m hollow to base north-west. Mallet indicates sizeable area of dysfunction including one buttress root. Located immediately adjacent to Saint Augustine's Roman Catholic Primary School. Playground well within the fall radius of the tree. Replacement replanting not recommended due to potential for Kretzsch to persist in any remaining roots and colonise new planting. - Mature ash tree, shown as T22 on the TCP. Request to remove the tree. Stump to be retained or ground out at discretion of the client. Reasons for removal: crown with advanced decline and 25-50% remaining, likely ash dieback.Significant stem base dysfunction (unknown rot type and cause) to the north, bark and cambium loss north to 2m and flaking plates of bark around to the east. Action needed due to proximity to Mapperley road and footpath.Replacement replanting not recommended due to density of trees in this area, but left to the discretion of the council.

Maintain the willow den at the height of the den (c.6ft from ground level) with a programme of cyclical pruning in the winter months and/or in early summer. This has been our cyclical maintenance for the past 8 years since planting the willow den, but I understand from your Officer last week that it has now reached a trunk diameter where I require permission due to living in a conservation area. The willow den is at the rear of the property, and is not generally visible from beyond our property and our next door neighbour, both of which would benefit from a tidier willow den than it presently is.

Reason for Works The tree is exhibiting significant structural defects and decay, including: Evidence of substantial basal decay associated with fungal activity (Pholiota spp.). Hollow sounding stem indicating internal decay. Two very large historic tear-out wounds, including one approximately 5 metres above ground level. Major limb loss and loss of large branches. Abnormal buttressing and trunk form. Stem decay below the crown break. These defects indicate a significant decline in structural integrity and an increased risk of partial or whole-tree failure. Summary 1 × Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Sectional dismantling and removal of the entire tree due to advanced structural defects and decay.
