  Removal of four Ilex aquifolium (Common Holly), stump grinding, and replacement with a native pleached Carpinus betulus (Hornbeam) hedge. The proposal will improve the appearance, functionality and long-term landscape contribution of the frontage while preserving and enhancing the character of the Conservation Area. The four existing holly trees are small specimens of limited arboricultural and amenity value. Hornbeam is a native species widely used in historic landscapes and Conservation Areas due to its longevity, strong visual structure and excellent tolerance of pruning. The replacement planting will provide a more cohesive and sustainable landscape feature, delivering greater visual amenity, improved frontage screening and a stronger contribution to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
