Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
Action 1: Remove overgrown, diseased, dominant overgrown conifers on the perimeter and replace gradually with diverse planting scheme - E2-27 Arborvitae: many mature, extremely dense and unhealthly / dead hedging that has overgrown the size of the garden. - F1: Creeping Juniper - very unhealthy, mainly dead and overgrown with Ivy - G1: Yew: does not meet the tree threshold but plan to remove it for child safety - H1: Lawson's Cypress: badly managed, many dead patches, compromising shrubbery underneath - I1-2: Common Juniper: over crowded and bullying each other (I2 not a tree) - A2: Common Box - not a tree but part of this overcrowed section at the back of the garden - J1: Hornbeam that has been consumed by E10 - K1: Dead unidentified conifer - probably Arborvitae - L1: Formosan Juniper (not a tree) but will be removed as part of clearing the overgrown section Action 2: Pruning mature Viburnum V1 - Viburnum has been repeated trimmed with an electric trimmer which has resulted in unnatural shape - I will prune by hand to restore better natural shape and improve ventilation Action 3: Remove Willow

The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Front garden works: pruning back hedge and removal of two 'trees' that obstruct use of our driveway. - at the moment we cannot open the drive gate fully and get our car on the drive as the hedge has not been maintained sufficiently. - C1: a Common Box is obstructing the gate and we would like to remove it completely. - E1: this Arborvitae is also dominant and threaten access to the back garden. We would like to remove it completely and allow the Beech (A4) or Elder (D1) to thrive - We have identified a Rowan A1 (not currently a 'tree') next to C1 and an Elder D1 (not currently a 'tree') next to E1 which we would like to keep and manage as a native species once space is freed up. - A1-4: these Beeches have been allowed to over extend too far into the driveway. Trunks vary in size. We want to keep these but prune them back into manage them into a more appropriate size for the property and allow drive access
