What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with North Northamptonshire for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

We respectfully request permission to pollard two False Acacia Trees, reducing their crowns by approximately 50%. The proposed works are necessary due to the trees' close proximity to the adjacent building and roadway. The property owner has concerns regarding the potential risk posed by these trees, particularly following the failure of a third False acacia tree on the property in January. Fortunately, when that tree failed, it narrowly missed the building and no injuries or significant damage occurred. The two trees proposed for works are highlighted in red on the attached site map for ease of identification and photographic evidence for the recent tree that failed.
