About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

The proposed works are limited to those necessary to address the damage caused by the vehicular impact. Generally, the works will consist of reconstructing the chimney breast in imperial bricks, reconstructing the external coursed stone gable where necessary, repairs to the chimney stack, applying new lime plaster internally to the wall and adding decorative details, reinstalling the chimney flue and reinstalling the fireplace and hearth (both of which have been salvaged and retained at the property for reinstatement).

We respectfully request permission to pollard two False Acacia Trees, reducing their crowns by approximately 50%. The proposed works are necessary due to the trees' close proximity to the adjacent building and roadway. The property owner has concerns regarding the potential risk posed by these trees, particularly following the failure of a third False acacia tree on the property in January. Fortunately, when that tree failed, it narrowly missed the building and no injuries or significant damage occurred. The two trees proposed for works are highlighted in red on the attached site map for ease of identification and photographic evidence for the recent tree that failed.
