What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About heritage and listed buildings applications

How this application type works

Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

T1 and T2, Mature/over mature Oaks, T1 - very light weight reduction on 2 x extended limbs over play equipment, the work will select any duplicating branches below diameter of 4cm to start with and re-asses. Further work will include thinning of the limbs targeting material below 4cm diameter where possible. T2 - a similar approach to T1 however there's evidence that this tree had shed major limbs in the past, we would aim to reduce the limb to the rear as indicated in the image back to generous epicormic growth -T3 - Eucalyptus gunnii, Reduce 2 x overhanging limbs above access route to the estate -T4 - Cedars Libanii, Reduce weight of limb displaying signs of vascular failure reduce risk of failure in this busy area of the garden.
