Planning application

Raynham Hall Swaffham Road East Raynham Fakenham Norfolk NR21 7EP

Decided North Norfolk IS3/21/1087 Informal Silver Level 3 Listed Building

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

Following a leak through the roof, water ingress has damaged the internal fabric of the Belisarius Room to Raynham Hall. We seek initial pre-application advise with respect to the replacement of the existing damaged wallpaper coverings to the wall, with a new fabric wall covering to the walls. The fabric will be in the same colour and pattern as the existing wallpaper, careful selected from a section behind a painting which has shielded the paper from UV fade and decay. Other works to the room will be undertaken on a like-for-like basis, whereupon they would not form part of any content of a Listed Building Application. The scope for these works are Redecorating, Timber Repairs/Straightening (Following Warping By water) and electrical systems (Power, Lighting, Switching, Fire Alarm) audit/repairs.

About heritage and listed building applications

Listed building consent is needed for works that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without it is a criminal offence. More in our guide to planning application types.
