Planning application

The Wheatsheaf 47 Bargate Grimsby North East Lincolnshire DN34 5AD

Granted North East Lincolnshire DM/0716/21/TCA Works to a tree in a Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1: Over mature False Acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) approximately 14 metres in height, to be sectionally dismantled to ground level, this will be performed by arborists working from rope and harness, and operating from a MEWP. Tree is currently in a structurally compromised condition with real and present danger to pedestrians and vehicles on adjacent road and footpath. One considerable limb has already failed and dropped onto carriageway. The remaining tree is heavily leaning towards footpath and road so weighted heavily to one side with substantial split in base. Stump to be treated with EcoPlugs to prevent regrowth, as there are two self set robinia approximately 8 metres from the truck of the original tree on site boundary these in no reason to replant like for like, these trees will be protected with barriers whilst work is carried out. T2: Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) approximately 16 metres in height, radius of tree crown to reduce crown lateral spread by 2m to leave crown of approximately 6m diameter / 3m radius., this will be performed by arborists working from rope and harness, and operating from a MEWP. Tree has evidence of damage at base and at regular intervals up the main stem so this work carried out will help the health of the tree as its growing at a irregular angle.

    A. Trim regrowth back to previous growth points on 8 no. pollarded lime trees. These are situated in front of the property along Bargate. The regrowth is starting to encroach towards the causeway and traffic lights.B. In the interest of safety it is proposed that all the trees within the property area be inspected and crown cleaned of any dead wood or dangerous branches. There are up to 17 trees of various sizes and species. Some of the trees may not require any work. Any work other than cleaning, will be given to our client in a report and at some stage a seperate application will be made to the council to carry out this work.
