Granted Newark and Sherwood 26/00597/TWCA Tree Work In Conservation Area

Works: Trees Domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1 Acer (Maple) Situated adjacent to a residential dwelling, within close proximity to apartment buildings. This is a mature specimen that has previously undergone pruning works and responded well, demonstrating good vitality and recovery. Proposed Works: Crown reduction of up to 3 metres, reducing back to appropriate growth points while maintaining the natural form and shape of the tree. Works will aim to balance the crown, reduce end-weight, and ensure continued suitability for its location adjacent to built structures T2 Acer (Maple) Located adjacent to the highway and overhanging the pedestrian footpath. The tree has been previously managed and exhibits established pruning points. Proposed Works: Crown reduction of approximately 1 metre, pruning back to previous reduction points where appropriate. Works will maintain clearance over the highway and footpath while preserving the tree's natural form and amenity value.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
