Proposal

FRONT: ONE Holly (T1) (ht. 6.5m). Stem 1 diameter 14 cm / Stem 2 diameter 12 cm. FELL and replace. REASON: Exhibits a severe structural defect, currently leaning at an approximately 40-degree angle, presenting a risk of failure. ONE Hawthorn (T2) (ht. 6.5m). Stem 1 diameter 9 cm / Stem 2 diameter 6 cm. FELL and replace. REASON: Has a wood-boring insect infestation which has damaged the lower part of the tree. ADDITIONAL REASONING: In addition to their damage, both trees are directly interfering with the fibre-optic telecommunications lines. (More details in Reasons for work document) REPLANTING PROPOSAL: Due to the overhead telecommunications wires, replanting high-forest trees in this exact location is unfeasible. To maintain canopy cover and support local biodiversity in this shaded area, it proposed that the felled trees will be replaced with a shade-tolerant, native woody shrub that respects the height restrictions of the wires, such as a Guelder Rose (Viburnum opulus) or Hazel (Corylus avellana).
