A native pollinator will be planted as a replacement. Informative A: huge thank you for replacement tree planting elsewhere in the rear garden, for amenity, wildlife and to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change species such as: elder, crab apple, wayfaring tree, hawthorn, Amelanchier, hazel, quince (Cydonia oblonga,) Magnolia, alder buckthorn, winter flowering cherry, paperbark maple. Informative B: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: remember to include gravel boards with hedgehog highway holes in fencing.

REAR: ONE Eucalyptus (T1)(ht.16-18m) FELL or LOW POLLARD. Reason: to address excessive lean at base of the extremely tall tree - well above nearby houses ? leans over adjacent rear garden, creates excessive shading. Informative: a replacement tree will be hugely appreciated for rear amenity, urban greening environmental benefits and to contribute to the nearby railsides designated SINC and green corridor, species such as hawthorn, crab apple, wild cherry, whitebeam, pear, mulberry, Strawberry Tree, wild service tree, field maple, holly.

REAR: ONE Ash (T1)(approx.ht.8m) FELL. Reason: against boundary fence and shed and near rear elevation of property. REAR: ONE GROUP Ash stems (T2)(approx.ht.10m) REDUCE HEIGHT by approx.5m, THIN by 30%, retaining one stem with unreduced canopy if possible. Reason: against boundary fence. REAR: ONE Apple (T3)(approx.ht.5m) CROWN LIFT to 2.5m. Reason: to clear fence top REAR: ONE Apple (T4)(approx.ht.8m) REDUCE HEIGHT by approx.2-3m, REDUCE RADIUS by approx.1m to previous prune points, THIN for selective branches. REAR: ONE Pear (T5)(approx.ht.8m) REDUCE HEIGHT by approx.2-3m, REDUCE RADIUS by approx.1m to previous prune points, THIN for selective branches. Informative: the railway line to the rear of the garden is designated in the Lewisham Local Plan as a Site of Interest for Nature Conservation (SINC) and Green Corridor. The voluntary planting of a tree at the end of the garden would be greatly welcomed to enhance the wildlife habitat and urban greening. Suggested species include wild cherry (Prunus avium), wild pear (Pyrus communis), crab apple (Malus sylvestris), field maple (Acer campestre) and hazel (Corylus avellana).

FRONT: THREE Lime (T1,T2,T3)(ht.7-8m) carefully re pollard the crown back to old points aproximately 3 metres of regrowth FRONT: ONE hornbeam (T4)(ht.8m) reduce the overall size of crown by 3 metres. These trees are causing excessive shading

DC/26/144936 Granted
12 PRINCETHORPE ROAD, LONDON, SE26 4PF
REAR: ONE Lombardy Poplar (T1)(ht.16m) CROWN REDUCE by 10-11m to ht.5-6m, REDUCE SPREAD from 10m to 5m to create new pollard. Reason: multi-stemmed tree has had a major stem failure exposing large cavity approx.2m above gd level. Remaining stem above cavity is weighted towards neighbouring properties and a crown reduction to reduce weight and sail above cavity is urgently needed to minimise risk of future failures. Merely reducing the one stem would drastically change the balance of the overall canopy and exposure to wind would be likely to cause more failures on the remaining stems. Crown reduction is required for safety to reduce overall canopy to approximately 5-6m from ground level (please see annotated photo) to create a new pollard. Informative A: thank you for managing the tree by safe reduction to retain as a low pollard for rear amenity, wildlife and canopy shade to reduce heatwave temperatures due to climate change. Informative B: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
