REAR: ONE Horse Chestnut (T2)(ht.15m) FELL. Reason: substantial main stem decay in basal area, health and safety. REAR: ONE dead Sycamore (T3)(ht.7m) FELL. Reason: small dead tree, close to boundary with neighbours rear garden, duty to replace applies. Informative A: T3 dead sycamore - duty to replace applies for dead trees or trees removed under 5 day notice in a conservation area - the landowner has a duty to plant another tree of an appropriate size and species if it is removed because it is dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm, ref Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas, guidance, para 121. Informative B: the replacement tree is greatly appreciated to maintain the treed setting of the church, species such as: Indian Horse chestnut, small leaved lime, hornbeam, Hop hornbeam, Japanese Pagoda Tree, Robinia, Golden Rain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Italian alder, Hackberry, Kentucky Coffee Tree. Informative C: please retain safe standing stem of Horse Chestnut (T2), as possible bats are roosting in cavities as well as other wildlife and for biodiversity, and create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative D: The Bat Conservation Trust advises checking thoroughly for roosting bats before and during tree works with soft fell process followed to proceed with care and with cut timber left grounded over night to allow any bats to make their way out. Informative E: huge thank you for retaining other trees for amenity, wildlife, flood mitigation, improving air quality and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change.
