65 BREAKSPEARS ROAD, LONDON, SE4 1TS
REAR: ONE pollard Poplar (ht.23-25m) FELL to 4-6m high stem. Duty to replace applies ? with a poplar or an oak. REASON: large bough at ht.6m ripped out due to hollow bough with decay extending down from pollard head into fork and main trunk, risk of remaining boughs which fork at similar height falling into neighbouring gardens. The intention is to retain the trunk reduced to safe height, to provide habitat for local wildlife such as possible bat roost and insects including the endangered stag beetle. Informative A: the retention of the large tree trunk reduced to a safe height is hugely appreciated due to its age and benefits for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative B: the replacement tree to be either a poplar or an oak, ref Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas guidance, para 121 - duty to replace dead or dangerous trees. Informative C: please leave sections of boughs lying on the ground, create habitat log piles and dead hedges with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative D: prior consent is required from the owner/management company of Alder House for access and ground protection etc for the crane described as needed to undertake the tree works ? management company is understood to be Pinnacle Group.

The tree is to be monitored afterwards with regard to long term safety.
