86 GELLATLY ROAD, LONDON, SE14 5TT

Granted Lewisham DC/25/142070 Trees in Conservation Areas

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

REAR: ONE False Acacia (T1)(ht.10m) FELL. Reason: the tree is suspected to be contributing to subsidence in stair area in the house. Informative A: it is unfortunate that the tree is being removed without sufficient evidence to implicate the tree - by site investigation into the cause of the crack in the internal stair area, such as level monitoring of external walls, soil, drain and foundation depth investigations, or if any internal building works may be involved. Informative B: replacement tree planting is encouraged with an NHBC low water demand species such as elder, hazel, holly, birch, Gleditsia, Laburnum, Magnolia, mulberry for amenity, wildlife, shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change, and to reduce flood risk. Informative C: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
