Reasons: the trees create significant shade - a third of rear garden is in total shade - and the trees are planted in a raised border to be partially removed for a small garden studio at the bottom of the garden; two crab apple trees and six wisteria have already been planted as replacements, and other existing trees - two pear trees, a silver birch, a quince tree and two trees of unknown species - are being retained. Informative A: huge thank you for retaining a treed and vegetated rear garden for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change.
