Proposal
REAR: ONE Birch (T1 )(ht.8m) FELL. Reason: die back in upper canopy and leaves have prematurely turned. Duty to replace applies. REAR: ONE Robinia (T2) (ht.15m) CROWN REDUCE HEIGHT by 2.5m to ht.12.5m, LATERAL REDUCE by up to 2m from 9m to7m, general maintenance. Informative A: duty to replace the dead birch applies - duty to replace applies if a tree in a conservation area is removed because it is dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm: Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas guidance, para 121 , suggest replace with another birch. Informative B: encourage waiting until spring 2026 to be sure the tree has died and not premature leaf change in response to the prolonged hot dry spring & summer 2025, if dead, encourage retaining safe standing dead stem and create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: to thank for retaining the Robinia for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce high temperatures in increasingly hot summers due to climate change.
