Reason: previously topped resulting in wide spreading overshadowing branch regrowth, growing against boundary fence and roots causing broken paving in neighbouring garden. Informative: a replacement tree or large shrub in the rear garden would be greatly welcome and appreciated in view of the climate emergency and the importance of the urban forest canopy in providing ecosystem services. Trees, shrubs and hedges contribute to a green rear outlook, to climate change mitigation, provide wildlife habitats, reduce air pollution and storm water run-off, and benefit health and wellbeing.
