REAR/SIDE: ONE Lime stem FELL. Reason: Health and safety. This is the remaining stem of a twin-stemmed lime whose stem on the NW compass point split away at ground level and collapsed causing significant bark loss and exposing basal decay and heart wood. Also possible historic basal fire damage. Informative: Duty to replace - the owner has a duty to plant another tree of an appropriate size and species at the same place as soon as he or she reasonably can if a tree in a conservation area is removed because it is dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm under 5 Day Notice. (Para 121 of Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas guidance). It would be appreciated if the Council could be notified when the replacement tree has been planted.
