REAR: TWO Sycamore (T1 & T2)(T1 ht.8m) (T2 ht.5m) FELL. Reason: due to poor form, co-dominant growth and limited long-term amenity value. REAR: ONE Prunus (T3)(ht.4m) FELL. Reason: due to low quality and limited contribution to the overall site. REAR: G1 / G2 Minor Vegetation and Shrubs REMOVE. Reason: small self-seeded trees, shrubs, and debris to ground level (exempt work). Reason: the works are part of a garden redesign, with replacement planting proposed to improve the long-term amenity and aesthetic value of the site. Informative A: huge thanks for replacement tree planting in the garden redesign for urban greening benefits, retaining Prunus T3 is encouraged to provide a character tree in the new landscape scheme. Informative B: please create habitat log piles and 'dead hedge' with arisings, including plants for pollinators, native species and hedgehog highway holes in any new fencing, for wildlife and biodiversity.

  • DC/26/144936 Granted

    12 PRINCETHORPE ROAD, LONDON, SE26 4PF

REAR: ONE Lombardy Poplar (T1)(ht.16m) CROWN REDUCE by 10-11m to ht.5-6m, REDUCE SPREAD from 10m to 5m to create new pollard. Reason: multi-stemmed tree has had a major stem failure exposing large cavity approx.2m above gd level. Remaining stem above cavity is weighted towards neighbouring properties and a crown reduction to reduce weight and sail above cavity is urgently needed to minimise risk of future failures. Merely reducing the one stem would drastically change the balance of the overall canopy and exposure to wind would be likely to cause more failures on the remaining stems. Crown reduction is required for safety to reduce overall canopy to approximately 5-6m from ground level (please see annotated photo) to create a new pollard. Informative A: thank you for managing the tree by safe reduction to retain as a low pollard for rear amenity, wildlife and canopy shade to reduce heatwave temperatures due to climate change. Informative B: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
