T1 10m Sycamore - Crown Reduction - Reducing the height and spread of the tree by up to 3 metres to the previous reduction points, removing 1 interior crossing branch T2 7m Holly - Reduce in height by 2.5m crown thin by 30% and trim side foliage back to the fence line. Remove 1 main stem T3 12M Cypress x 2 - crown reduce by 3 metres, crown lift by up to clear 5m metres, crown thin by 30% removing dead and crossing branches T4 10M Box tree - Fell to ground level T5 10M Bay tree - Crown reduce by 2.5m cut back side to the fence line and cut down sucker stems T6 10 Yew tree - Reduce by 3m cut back to the boundary fence Crown thin by 30% and remove dead and crossing branches. Remove 1 main stem T7 10m Holly x 2 - Reduce by 3m cut back to the boundary fence. Remove sucker stem Reasons - The trees that form the boundary area between our property and the public highway are, frankly, a mess . We call this part of our property "The jungle". It has become overgrown, the trees are too big, it has an infertile floor (not helped by the Plane tree leaves which blow in from the Common opposite). It is used as a dumping ground and loo by passers by. We did replace the previous low wooden fence with a new on three years ago and that, graffiti apart, has helped. We also planted a Cherry Laurel hedge behind the fence, but that is struggling/has died where it is under the thick tree canopy, and the protection it should offer against pollution, noise and nuisance, is significantly diminished despite mulching , feeding and watering of the hedge over the last three summers. Whilst we recognise the value of these trees for the provision of habitat and carbon sequestration, the crown has become so dense that the woodland floor below has died off. We want to improve it for invertebrates and as a food source for nesting birds. We want to reduce the size of these trees and open up their canopy to sun and rain to restore the woodland garden at ground level, whilst still keeping the tree
