Planning application
1 Yewbarrow Coach House Main Street GRANGE-OVER-SANDS LA11 6EB
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
The tree is a large lime located opposite 1 Yewbarrow Estate, Grange Over Sands, LA11 6EB on land under the ownership on South Lakes Housing, see '001 Location Plan'. The tree has died back in one half of the crown, suspected accidental poisoning being the cause. We want to fell the tree as per the advice from from Ryan Kearney, Arboricultural Officer at W&F (found in '004. Emails with W&F') 'Due to the proposed works, along with the poisoning, the tree is no longer safe. The increased target area of the car parking and the further potential damage to roots would mean that any form of mitigated pruning may prove redundant in the long run. Therefor I would suggest firstly felling the tree, ideally soon. Secondly to mitigate the loss and to avoid a possible breach of conditions I would provide an amended location plan and planting plan in line with conditions 2 and 6'. The works being referred to are the redevelopment of Yewbarrow Lodge, application number SL/2023/0467.
