Proposal

Application under S.19 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 to vary condition no.1 (approved plans) to listed building consent 19/00334/LBC (demolition and partial rebuilding of Earl de Grey Public House; erection of link extension to Castle Buildings and Earl de Grey; refurbishment, reconfiguration of, and external alterations to Castle Buildings) to enable: a. Alteration to design of refuse store and storage area adjoining Castle Buildings, to incorporate ground WCs, including an accessible WC, with a plant room in the south-west corner of the Pavilion extension b. Replacement of plastic rainwater goods on Castle Buildings, with metal c. Reduction in the amount of glazing to the new 'pavilion' extension, with zinc cladding around the service areas and north-east elevation d. Relocation of the lift tower to the rear of the Earl de Grey and provision of lobbies between the two listed buildings e. Reduction in height of the link building between the listed buildings and sub-division of glazing with glazing bars f. Omission of new leaded lights to the Earl de Grey and Castle Buildings g. Reconstruction of the Earl de Grey in cavity wall construction with the reclaimed bricks on the principal north-west and north-east elevations h. Provision of ventilated ridge to the Earl de Grey i. Subdivision of the rear (east) part of the reconstructed Earl de Grey to provide WC's and ancillary accommodation
