Planning application

Weirside 10B Silt Road Nordelph DOWNHAM MARKET Norfolk PE30 0XX

Granted King’s Lynn and West Norfolk 24/00172/TREECA Works to/Fell Tree in Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Ash Tree in Rear Garden - This tree is situated in the rear garden on the riverbank. It is approximately 12-metres tall with a 6-metre canopy spread and has multiple stems ranging from 300 to 450mm. Recommendation This tree has a sparse canopy and appears to be in decline. Whilst this tree offers a focal point in the garden, we would recommend it is removed at this stage before further decline leads to failure, which could potentially impede the waterways.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

We wish to cut down all five small tress growing in our back lawn and grind the remaining small stumps to enable lawn to flourish. One magnolia and one holly behind the shed is overshadowing lawn and making garden damp. Two small cooking apple trees have not been pruned and are now way too tall to harvest and one small nearby tree nearby that is dead.
