Refused Islington P2023/1167/TRE Works application to tree with Tree Preservation Order

Works: Trees

Refused. Only the applicant can appeal, within the statutory time limit, and a revised scheme can be submitted instead.

Proposal

Front garden (T1) London Plane - Large crowned multi-stemmed tree (14 main stems) from 3 to 4 metres high. Draw in 3 main laterals to create new reduction points at 2 metres from main stems. Remove up to 6 small sub-laterals back to branch. Proposed work shown on photo of tree with this application. Reason: To help reduce excessive shading to the frontage of the property, whilst maintaining the natural shape and stature of the tree.

T1 - Lime Tree - Previously Pollarded - These trees respond quickly and well to a pollard. Re-polllard to most previous pollard points removing new growth and epicormic shoots from the trees stem. This will leave the tree as a bare basic structure to allow for re-growth in 2025.
