The process from here
This application is with Isle of Wight for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About this record
Reading the register
This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Isle of Wight is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.
Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.

TG1; Sycamore and Leylandii trees situated on bankside between property 36 Beechfield and Bayshore and Royal Pier Hotels (approximately 30 trees) - Fell. Reason: Trees are self-set in an unmanaged area, causing issues for the homeowner and posing problems for the hotels below. Bring the bankside area back into management by removing the larger trees and allowing it to regenerate as coppice, so they can be periodically cut down at ground level when they get too large in the future. Some trees have unstable root conditions, are growing through telecoms cables, interfere with fire escape routes from the hotels below, and come into close contact with kitchen electrical systems, which may pose a future fire risk if left unmanaged. Tree failure on the bankside could block the fire escapes for the hotels below.
