Amendment to proposal: T1; Conifer - Remove the south-facing codominant lateral stem in its entirety, back to its point of origin on the main stem; Carry out an additional reduction to the tips of selected branches by approximately 1.5 metres; Make pruning cuts back to suitable growth points in accordance with good arboricultural practice. Reason: The lateral stem has formed a weak codominant union and carries significant lateral and end weight. This creates an increased risk of structural failure and the stem tearing out, particularly during periods of high wind. Pruning to be undertaken to maintain the overall balance and proportion of the remaining stem and crown. T2; Lime Tree - Remove close to ground level. Reason: The tree has developed a pronounced lean, resulting in significant asymmetric loading through the main stem and root plate. The base displays substantial adaptive growth, including a visibly enlarged and bulging root system, suggesting the tree has been responding to prolonged structural loading. Due to the extent of the lean and the continued loading placed upon the stem base and root plate; removal is proposed to prevent the tree becoming an increased structural concern as it continues to mature.
