Planning application

The Lawns 23 Spencer Road Ryde Isle Of Wight PO33 2NU

Granted Isle of Wight 21/01473/TW Tree Works in Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Oak - Reduce whole crown by 30% max. This tree has a very rangey habit, with the whole crown composed of extended limbs. Part of the tree overhangs the playing fields of Ryde School. I am concerned that significant wind-loading may cause one or more limbs to fail, causing significant damage to the tree. Reduction now will mitigate failure risk.

T4; English Oak - Reduce lower lateral over-extending branches back to suitable growth points up to 2-3m from branch tips; remove downward growing branches to prevent further leveraging. Reason: Lower canopy has become unbalanced and leaning more towards the client's property. By reducing the large lateral limbs and removing downward growth we hope to promote re-balancing and take off some weight to prevent leveraging.
