Removing this will promote growth in surrounding, more established oaks by giving them more space and access to light. T3; Multi stem Silver Birch (Betula pendula) - Dismantle to ground level. Reason: Growing into nearby oaks causing them to compete for light and space, preventing them from maturing. T4; Large Oak (Quercus robur) - Crown raised by 2 metres to create a canopy and trunk. The remaining canopy reduced by 20% from branch tips to create a balanced tree shape and remove the movement in the wind. A further 10% reduced by thinning of dead wood, epicormic growth, and crossing branches. Reason: To allow light & wind to pass through the canopy and improving tree health.
