The process from here

This application is with Hounslow for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Rear LHS T1 Yew Common x 1 (Taxus baccata) This 8m mature yew tree has grown unbalanced and is suppressing the trees beneath it. Suggested work: - reduce the right handside of the canopy 2.5m - reduce the height 2m and blend the right handside to make a flowing outline of canopy. Rear T8 Cherry x 1 (Prunus spp) This 16m mature cherry tree covered in ivy has been reduced in the past, but not for at least 7 years. The lateral branches are now touching the client's house. The trunk has severely damaged the boundary wall. The client is willing to rebuild the wall around the trunk, losing some of her land, in order to accommodate it. Before work begins on rebuilding the wall the trees needs reducing. This will slow root expansion and cut the growth back from the property. Suggested work: - full crown reduction - reduce the height 4.5m back to previous reduction points - reduce the lateral growth 2-3.5m back to previous reduction points, retaining shortened furnishing growth - thin internal ... read more
