What withdrawal means
The process from here
The applicant withdrew this application before the council decided it, so it carries no planning weight and no fee refund is automatic. Withdrawal often follows officer feedback that a refusal was likely.
The applicant is free to submit a revised application at any time, and many withdrawn schemes return in amended form, so the site is worth watching if the proposal affected you.
About lawful development applications
How this application type works
A lawful development certificate is a legal determination, not a planning judgement. It asks the council to confirm either that existing use or works are lawful, often through the passage of time, or that a proposal would not need planning permission at all. The applicant must prove the facts; the merits of the scheme are not considered.

6 Academy Place, Isleworth, TW7 5FD
The tree in question exists in No. 6 Academy Place, but the branches extend into No. 5 and No. 7. On behalf of my neighbours (who have asked me to submit the application) we seek to have the tree 'tidied up' as it has not been 'maintained' or lobbed like other trees in the area in the past 20 years. Currently, because of it's awkward and unmaintained shape we are concerned that it could fall / cause damage in any of the storms that occur. The tree is in close proximity to our properties (end of an 8m long garden) and with some maintenance to tidy the low-lying branches by a tree surgeon, it would prolong the life of the tree by giving it structural integrity. The tree also borders Borough Road, Isleworth with small / medium branches falling off onto footpaths / pedestrians during period of strong winds. As the tree is on private property, we assume that is the reason why it hasn't been maintained like the other trees in the area by the local authority. The plan with a designated tree s... read more
