Works: Trees
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
T1 oak to reduce from approximately 13m height to 11.5m and spread from 10m to 8.5m. Remove epicormic growth from trunk. The tree dominates a small garden whist oversailing 3 other properties and a public footpath. Managing the size of the tree will allow all neighbours more light and space to their gardens.

30T Norway maple (possibly part of TPO group G7 and incorrectly identified as a sycamore. Covered by conservation area regardless of TPO). This tree is recommended for removal due to a large column of decay with visible Kretzschmaria deusta fungi from base of stem to stem bifurcation at 3m height. A sounding mallet test on the stem indicated extensive internal stem decay. The tree is located adjacent to a driveway and may be at risk of failure. Fell to ground level and grind stump. 32T Common yew (possibly part of TPO group G7 - exact location of trees on TPO plan is not clear. TPO is almost 30 years old so unlikely to have been a part of the original order as the tree is too young but I want to make sure if it is now covered. Also within conservation area) - fell to ground level and grind stump. This small tree (5m height, 100mm DBH, category C1) requires removal in order to facilitate the construction of a woodland walk footpath and adjacent bin store. 33T Common yew (possibly part of TPO group G7 - exact location of trees on TPO plan is not clear. TPO is almost 30 years old so unlikely to have been a part of the original order as the tree is too young but I want to make sure if it is now covered. Also within conservation area) - fell to ground level and grind stump. This small tree (5m height, 160mm DBH, category C1) requires removal in order to facilitate the construction of a woodland walk footpath and adjacent bin store. The 3No. trees that are proposed for removal are located within a densely wooded area which limits the possibility for replanting due to light competition from the overhanging canopy.
