Works: Trees
Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.
Proposal
There are 4 medium sized conifers at the far end of the garden. Work proposed is to top the trees and reduce the crown, bringing them to 8ft tall. This will improve the health and longevity of the tree, reduce the base from wooding, provide more light to the back of the garden, as well as improving the overall aesthetic. Secondly, there are two large conifers to the left of the boundary, they are blocking light from our neighbour. We would like to top and reduce the crown ofboth.

About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Atlas Cedar - the tree is positioned in the area of more recent graves and has a high target occupancy. Due to historic limb failures the trees crown is out of balance with large limbs overextended, reduce the overextended limbs by removing 2-3 metres of growth to a suitable growth point, remove major deadwood and limbs with hazard prone characteristics, thin canopy by approximately 10% to reduce sailarea and minimise risk of future limb loss.
