TPO No. 686 Southacre Way (No.1) Pinner T8 (T4) Willow (front garden, right hand side of driveway): Reduce height by around 2m. Reason - To tidy and reduce likelihood of branch failures H3 Cypress (front garden, right hand boundary, adjacent to driveway): Trim top and garden side hard back as possible without losing green foliage cover, to remove annual growth (approx 5-10cm) Reason - As part of regular maintenance

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

I am seeking consent to remove both Lawson Cypresses by felling the trees, including removing any root above ground level. The main reason for wanting to fell Tree Number T11 with TPO Number 520 is the safety risk it poses. The tree’s root system is actively causing physical damage to my property as the roots are uplifting driveway slabs, creating uneven surfaces. This has introduced a clear trip hazard, posing a risk to residents and visitors. The displacement appears to be ongoing, indicating that damage will likely worsen over time if the tree remains.
