Planning application
2026/0997
43 Tudor Road, Hackney, London, E9 7SN
Proposal
Fell T1 (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana – Lawson Cypress) An early mature tree situated within an area of hard surfacing. Reason: The tree has outgrown its immediate location, being surrounded by patio and restricted rooting conditions. Tree excessively blocks light to property and neighbouring properties while also causing damage to adjoining property fence line, and causes issues with drainage and gutter blockages, resulting in damp issues at neighbouring property. Due to its limited arboricultural quality and constrained growing environment it has been categorised as C1 in accordance with BS5837:2012 Applicant is happy to replace tree with a more suitably sized native species or ones known to provide benefits to local wildlife and species which are not considered invasive in Hackney.

About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
