The process from here
This application is with Guildford for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About this record
Reading the register
This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Guildford is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.
Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.

T1 (Mature Birch): Crown reduce by up to 3m on height and all sides of the tree. To reduce height from 14m to 11m and width from 16m to 10m approximately. To also crown thin by 15%, dead wood and the major limb from near ground level on the southern side of the tree. To reduce back to laterals. Reason: To increase light to the conservatory underneath and also to the neighbours swimming pool area. Due to the position of this tree we have reduced this tree on at least four occasions. The larger reduction points have weakened due to decay and to reduce the weight and leverage on the end growth. T2,T3, T4, T5 (Small Birch): Reduce height by 3-4m (from 10m to 6-7m) and sides by 1m (from 4m to 3m). T6, T7 (Rowan): Reduce height by 1.5m (from 6m to 4.5m) and width from 4m to 3m. Reason: These trees (T2 to T7) are shooting up and preventing light from entering the house, making it very dark on the ground floor.
