Planning application

26/1974/TC

KIDBROOKE RECTORY, 62 KIDBROOKE PARK ROAD, LONDON, SE3 0DU

Awaiting decision Greenwich Tree works in a Conservation Area

Proposal

4 X Self Sown Ash - Carefully fell to near ground level and treat stumps with eco plugs. The Trees in question are showing signs of ash die back and due to their location it would be beneficial to remove them now whilst we are still able to climb them as there is limited access for any equipment on site. The trees are self sown and their growing location is unsuitable for this species.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Greenwich for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

T1 - Fig: fell - tree height at 7mt - tree width at 5mt - The tree is causing direct physical damage to adjacent built structures, including displacement of a retaining wall, movement of the adjacent manhole chamber and direct contact with the building. Due to its close proximity to the structure and its continued growth potential, removal is considered the most appropriate long-term management solution. To mitigate the loss of tree cover and maintain the landscape character of the site, a replacement tree will be planted in a more appropriate location, sufficiently offset from buildings and underground services to allow healthy long-term growth.

Mountain Ash to the front garden. The leaves and foliage to approx 1/3 of the tree have turned brown and shrivelled rapidly with the foliage given a scorched burned appearance. Please see two photos: the first taken 10.07.26 and the other today 27.07.26. demonstrating the rapid decline of the foliage. Upon initial investigation we believe the trunk to have contracted a bacterial infection. This is one of three. - to remove the dead infected areas. This work should be undertaken in a timely fashion to prevent further spread of the disease.
