Planning application

10 RUTHIN ROAD, BLACKHEATH, LONDON, SE3 7SH

Granted Greenwich Tree works in a Conservation Area

Proposal

ASH TREE - Fell - Rear Garden -The tree is of low quality (potentially even dead or dying) please see attached photograph taken today. The tree is a nuisance to our property and all surrounding neighbouring properties, as the tree greatly reduces the amount of natural daylight and dominates the small garden amenity area of the property

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Please see two photos: the first taken 10.07.26 and the other today 27.07.26. demonstrating the rapid decline of the foliage. Upon initial investigation we believe the trunk to have contracted a bacterial infection. This is one of three. - to remove the dead infected areas. This work should be undertaken in a timely fashion to prevent further spread of the disease.
