Planning application

Marley Hill And District Community Centre Church Street Marley Hill Newcastle Upon Tyne NE16 5DW

Awaiting decision Gateshead DC/26/00492/NPA

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

The proposed development is for the installation of a roof mounted 25.5kW Solar system with 15.54kWh battery storage (located in the loft space of the building). The panels will be positioned on the slated tiled sloping roof sides of the rear of the building (over the main hall and bar area) on the SW facing side to maximise sun capture. The design of the PV panels means that they will NOT protrude more than 0.2m beyond the plane of the sloped roof and will NOT be installed less than 1m from the external edge of the roof.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Gateshead for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About this record

Reading the register

This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Gateshead is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.

Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.
