Planning application

Lucott Church Street Limington Yeovil Somerset BA22 8EQ

Granted Exmoor National Park 26/01800/TCA Work to Trees

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Notification of intent to Fell No. 15 Trees within a Conservation Area. Fell No. 15 Leylandii Trees (approx 15 ft in height) alongside the boundary fence of the property. These trees directly impact my most immediate neighbours (3 Church Street & The Old Post Office) with a significant reduction of light to the rear of their properties and gardens. They trees have a small canopy with many exposed branches, and it is very imbalanced, favouring one side. The trees are also encroaching onto the other plantings of trees and shrubs within the garden, including some fruit trees (Cherry, plum and apple trees).

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
