Proposal
Application to carry out Tree Surgery Works to No. 1 Tree as shown within the South Somerset District Council (CHAR 1) 2010 Tree Preservation Order. T1 - Field Maple - Carry out a sympathetic crown reduction to the western side of the Field Maple only, reducing the lateral branch spread by approximately 2.0 metres. All pruning works shall: Be undertaken in accordance with BS 3998:2010 Tree Work: Recommendations. Maintain the tree's natural shape, balance and amenity value. Be achieved through suitable reduction pruning back to appropriate secondary growth points. Not exceed pruning cuts of 75 mm in diameter. Avoid unnecessary removal of internal growth or over-thinning of the canopy. Retain the overall health, structural integrity and long-term viability of the tree. Reason for the Works The purpose of the pruning is to: Increase natural light reaching the adjoining garden. Reduce the amount of honeydew (sap) falling onto the adjacent patio area. Maintain the tree in a suitable form while preserving its contribution to the local landscape.
