Tree Works Justification Conservation Area Notification The proposed works relate to three trees located within a designated Conservation Area and are intended to provide reasonable management of tree size, form, and proximity to built structures, whilst ensuring the long-term health, safety, and amenity value of the trees is retained. T001 Acer The Acer has developed a moderately extended canopy which is beginning to outgrow the available space within the garden setting. The proposed minor crown reduction of approximately 1.0 m in height and 1.0 m in radial spread is intended to bring the canopy back into proportion with the surrounding garden and nearby structures. The reduction will be carried out by pruning back to suitable growth points, retaining the trees primary framework and a high proportion of foliage-bearing structure. This approach represents good arboricultural management, maintaining the trees natural form whilst preventing future overextension. T002 Apple Tree The Apple tree currently has two primary limbs extending over the garage roof, creating potential for debris accumulation and ongoing contact with the structure. Removal of these limbs back to the main stem will provide appropriate clearance from the building. The remaining canopy will be pollarded at approximately 2.5 m above ground level, establishing a compact and manageable framework for future growth and facilitating long-term maintenance. In addition, the ivy present on the stem will be severed at the base to prevent further encroachment into the canopy, allowing improved inspection and reducing additional loading on the tree. T003 Olive Tree The Olive tree has developed a dense and extended canopy which would benefit from light management pruning. A modest crown reduction of approximately 1.5 m in height and 1.0 m in radial spread is proposed to improve overall structure and maintain the tree at a scale appropriate to the garden environment. The works will retain the main frame

1x Olive tree - Remove 3x lowest branches that are heavily encroaching onto the garage, and prune back to the main stem. Crown lift the remaining lower canopy to achieve a minimum of 2m clearance above ground level. Reduce height by approximately 1m back to suitable growth points. Reduce remaining canopy to create a natural shape. All arising material shall be removed from site and returned to our premises for recycling. Justification The tree is beginning to outgrow its growing space and take over the small garden. Low branches are also heavily encroaching onto the properties garage.
